he Model Course 7.15 on Electro-Technical Rating, 2019 Edition, is a comprehensive training program designed to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to become proficient electro-technical ratings on board ships.

This course covers a wide range of topics including electrical systems, power generation and distribution, electrical machinery operation and maintenance, troubleshooting, safety procedures, and relevant regulations. It provides a thorough understanding of the responsibilities and tasks of an electro-technical rating, ensuring a strong foundation in the field.

The aim of this model course is to meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence for seafarers in the following functions: electrical, electronic and control engineering; maintenance and repair; and controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board, at the support level specified in table A-III/7 of the STCW Code.
