Anchor handling is an anchor installation services that in the sea offshore oil drilling operations. Ship and Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel is one serving anchor handling services. Work wire is a special equipment used in anchor handling operations. Such tools make use of machinery auxiliary hydraulic power powerpack.
The research was conducted during the author implement work practices in marine AHTS ERA INDONESIA 1 vessels owned company Offshore Marine Tbk PT Wintermar for twelve months. Types of writing using a qualitative way with the kind of primary data obtained directly from the research as well as secondary data obtained from the literature related to the thesis title. Method of data collection is done by direct observation, interviews conducted by the author to the engineer on board and get documentation on the results of the study.
From the result of this study indicate that there has been a decline in the performance of the hydraulic pump powerpack. This is due to the observved damage to the piston pump and the pump cavitation phenomenon. This causes sypmtoms of cavitation erosion cavitation in the velve plate. Then the issue of the effect on employment then wire work, so the impact on the length of anchor handling operations. Piston pumps and replacement parts as well as the velve plate to prevent cavitation done to improve the performance of the hydraulic pump powerpack
